How the Weighted Grade Calculator Works
Enter each assessment score and its percentage of the final course grade. Coursework weights plus the final-exam weight must total 100%. The calculator finds the current coursework average and the score needed on the final exam to reach your target.
Formula and method
Weighted coursework points = Σ(score × weight ÷ 100). Required final score = (target overall grade − weighted coursework points) ÷ (final exam weight ÷ 100).
Tips for better estimates
Copy weights from your syllabus and enter zero for unused assessment rows. If the required final score is above 100%, the target cannot be reached under the entered assumptions.
Important limitations
Schools may use letter grades, curves, dropped assignments, extra credit, or different rounding rules. Verify the calculation with your instructor or official grading policy.
